Private Japanese Traditional Flower Arrangement in Tokyo2-chōme-12-5 Mita

We offer a hands-on ikebana class where you can learn the traditional art of ikebana. The centuries-old art of ikebana began with offerings of flowers before the Buddha and developed along with the samurai culture. Ikebana in the tokonoma (alcove) was once considered the highest form of hospitality. Experienced ikebana masters will explain the basics of ikebana, from how to use floral scissors and a kenzan to how to drain water, while you experience ikebana firsthand. The activity takes approximately 60 minutes. This is a private or semi-private experience. The number of people can be set from 1 to 20; for 21 or more, please contact us. You can choose both a traditional kimono and the rare Oshima Tsumugi haori as optional add-ons. Oshima Tsumugi is a luxurious silk textile—mud‑dyed for rich color, woven with kasuri patterns, and known for its lightweight, supple drape—perfect for experiencing Japanese elegance firsthand. A certified kimono master will dress you—comfortably over a T-shirt or kimono undergarment—so anyone can enjoy it effortlessly. Just come as you are, no need to bring anything. Ideal for commemorative photos, this special touch ensures an unforgettable memory.
