We enter the ghetto via the picturesque Piazza Mattei, stopping at the beautiful Fontana delle Tartarughe to admire its three different kinds of colored marble and learning of its romantic past. We immerse ourselves in the history of one of the most ancient Jewish quarters in the world, as the tales of its inhabitants, interwoven with those of Roman citizens are still written on the walls of the neighborhood.
