What You Will Do

The Museum is dedicated to the thought and the works of Leonardo da Vinci and it is situated in the old town centre of Venice, Sestriere San Polo, at the Scoletta di San Rocco, in front of the Scuola Grande di San Rocco, 100 meters away from the Basilica dei Frari. Inside they are exposed working and testable reproductions of “Leonardo’s Machines” drawn from the famous “Da Vinci Codes”. You can consult some of his main Anatomical Studies and there is also an art gallery in which his main paintings are shown and described, faithfully reproduced through the use of an exclusive ultra high-resolution backlight technology. The exhibition is completed by many educational projections depicting Leonardo’s life and works and an original and well-stocked bookshop.

Museo Leonardo da Vinci

The exhibition is family friendly and recommended for adults and children alike as it is able to stimulate curiosity and promote understanding of his remarkable work. It is organised in four sections: Earth, water, air and fire. All the machines have been built according to Leonardo Da Vinci’s design and unless changes have been necessary using the original proportions. In addition to the machines the visitors can experience some of Leonardo’s major studies of anatomy and high resolution backlit replicas of his major paintings that allow to explore his medical and artistic works. The museum has descriptions in Italian, English, French, German, Spanish and Russian, supplemented by multimedia displays on Leonardo’s life and works.
