What You Will Do

This is a private tour for your group only. Aberdeenshire has many treasures to offer and we will take you on a tour to areas that are stunning and interesting.

A suggested itinerary depending on hotel location:

-Old Aberdeen - Fascinating medieval history
-Dunnottar Castle - one of the worlds' most iconic
-Crathes Castle - 16th century masterpiece & amazing gardens
-Lunch at nice restaurant
-Royal Lochnagar Distillery/Glen Garioch Distillery Tasting tour (included in the cost of the tour) or Balmoral Castle, if open to the public. Not both entrance fees are included.

Access to the castle interiors and Distillery Tasting Tours are subject to seasonal opening times. Access to most castles grounds is free, except Balmoral. Please contact us for details.

You must be over 18 to taste the whisky during the Distillery tour but younger people are welcome.

  • Dunnottar Castle - Free to see from outside. Pay at door if you wish to go inside. No pre booking.
  • Pick up surcharges - Hotels more that 10mls from Aberdeen city-£20. 40-60mls-£40.
  • Crathes Castle - Free to see from outside. Pay at door if you wish to go inside. No pre booking.

Dunnottar Castle

One of Scotland's and the worlds most spectacular castles, Dunnottar is a ruined medieval fortress located upon a rocky headland near Stonehaven. The surviving buildings date back to between the 13th and 16th centuries, but was originally fortified in the Early Middle Ages. You can enjoy this castle for free but an internal tour is chargeable. (£9.50 pp)
