Ruined 15th century tower house located within the grounds of Hopetoun House was used for the external shots for the family home of Jamie Fraser, Lallybroch.

Blackness Castle

Jutting out into the Firth of Forth, this "ship that never sailed", is a 15th century fortress used as Black Jack Randalls head quarters at Fort William.

Doune Castle

Originally the home to The Duke of Albany and the Earls of Moray now is one of, if not the most famous film locations in Scotland.
Used for nearly all of the castle scenes in Monty Pythons "Holy Grail" and Elizabeth Taylors "Ivanhoe" it is now better known as the original setting for Winterfell Castle in the Game of Thrones and Castle Leoch, the clan home of the Mackenzie's in Outlander.

Falkland Palace & Garden

The village of Falkland fills in nicely as 1940's Inverness so keep an eye out for the ghost of Jamie.....
Falkland Palace and gardens were the favourite lodgings of the Royal Stewart family especially a young Mary Queen of Scots who used to roam the grounds and one of Britains oldest tennis courts.
