One of the most striking things about Vancouver is its stunning natural beauty, so it’s no surprise that some of its most iconic attractions are in the great outdoors. There are some truly breathtaking nature trails within easy reach of downtown, including the famous Capilano Suspension Bridge, a 70 metre high pedestrian bridge that stretches across a lush temperate rainforest, and Grouse Mountain, a resort dubbed the “peak of Vancouver” with panoramic views of the city, the Pacific Ocean and the surrounding mountains, reachable by an exhilarating ride on an aerial tramway. Our private driving tour allows you to visit both sights with a local guide, navigating North Vancouver with ease and making the most of your day in the wild.
On your 5-hour private driving tour, you will:
Experience the breath of fresh air that is North Vancouver on this invigorating private tour. You’ll begin your adventure right from your hotel doorstep, as your friendly local driver guide greets you for a scenic half-day exploration of two of Vancouver’s most iconic outdoor landmarks. Travelling in comfort and style in a modern, air-conditioned vehicle, you’ll first enjoy a leisurely drive through the heart of the city, passing many of its most emblematic sights, from the shimmering waters of English Bay and the leafy trails of Stanley Park to the historic neighbourhoods of Gastown and Chinatown. Crossing the majestic Lions Gate Bridge, the city skyline fades behind you as the lush coastal rainforest of North Vancouver comes into view.
Your first stop is the legendary Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, where you will have access to one of the most breathtaking natural attractions in British Columbia. Suspended high above the Capilano River, the 137-metre-long bridge sways gently between towering evergreens, offering thrilling views of the canyon below. As you wander the park, your guide will share fascinating stories about the bridge’s origins and the diverse ecosystems that thrive in this old-growth rainforest. You can take your time to enjoy the treetop walkways, the serene forest trails, and the peaceful hum of the wilderness all around.
Afterwards, your journey continues up to Grouse Mountain, affectionately known as the "Peak of Vancouver". Here, you’ll board the famous Skyride, a massive gondola that ascends more than 1,000 metres in under ten minutes. As the city recedes beneath you, panoramic views of the ocean, islands, and snow-capped peaks unfold, providing a true feast for the senses. At the top, you’ll have time to enjoy the fresh alpine air, watch local wildlife such as grizzly bears in the refuge area, and marvel at the sweeping vistas that make this region world-renowned for its natural beauty.
Throughout the day, your expert local guide brings Vancouver’s geography, history, and culture to life, sharing insights that connect the modern city to the wild landscapes that surround it.
