Take a behind-the-scenes tour of a high-tech urban, indoor, specialty mushroom producer. This one-of-a-kind controlled environment agriculture facility will show you the process of growing gourmet specialty mushrooms from start to finish. See how raw substrate is bagged and sterilized, inoculated, and then staged to incubate. Visit the grow rooms where fruiting happens and how the product is then packaged for retail and wholesale customers throughout Chicagoland. Learn about regenerative agriculture and how mushroom cultivation plays a critical role. The tour is ~60 minutes and concludes with a complimentary retail pack of "Chicago's Mushroom" that visitors can take home.
