What You Will Do

One of the smallest boat tours in the area, guests feel personally engaged even on a full boat. This is more than a fun tour for all ages, it is a one-of-a-kind experience. Guests get a once in a lifetime glimpse of life on these bayous that only the locals know. Taken through several waterways, guests learn about everything they see, the ecosystem, local culture, local wildlife (especially alligators), and could encounter recreational or commercial fishermen in action. The only Parish 100% affected by Hurricane Katrina, guests will see and learn details of the flood, and the wall built after Hurricane Katrina to separate and protect our community from the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet, the cause of our area flooding. A stop at our camp on the bayou (which can only be accessed by water) serves as a restroom stop. Adult guests have the option to arrive prior to their experience or stay afterwards, to step inside the bayou bar on site to possibly meet and talk to the locals.

Happiness Bayou Tours

2 hours

Enjoy two - two and a half hours of our diverse, fun and educational tour. The scenery throughout this tour is nothing like most have ever seen. A lifetime resident, Captain George will talk about personal experiences and knowledge related to much of what you see. He is a commercial blue crab fisherman and stops at one of his crab traps and describes the process. You'll see the "Great Wall of Louisiana," a flood wall constructed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after Hurricane Katrina. Midway through the tour, you'll stop at our camp on the bayou for a peek inside of bayou living, and a restroom stop. You are sure to see various wildlife, although nothing is guaranteed, as this nature and not a controlled environment.
