What You Will Do

This is a small group tour which includes a brief driving tour of Charleston's Old and Historic District and one of Charleston's premier plantations. Your guides Mike and Nancy are licensed city guides who's lived in the historic district for more than 30 years. One of them will provide you with interesting historic facts and amusing stories of 300 year old traditions that exist in this wonderful city today. Mike and Nancy are considered to be two of Charleston's premier guides. See why Charleston's leading hotels recommend Mike and Nancy to their guests. Then on to Middleton Place Plantation, the most authentic of all of the public plantations in the area and by far the most historic.

Middleton Place

The tour begins with a 20 minute drive through the Old and Historic District with a brief history of Charleston and some of it's interesting 300 year old customes that exist today. You will also see some of Charleston's largest historic homes including the Williams Mansion, at 25,000 ft. Charleston's largest single family residence. You will also see, Rainbow Row, White Pointe Gardens, the high battery, the Exchange building, considered one of Charleston's most important historic buildings, the Confederate Women's Home and St. Michael's church. Then on to Middleton Place Plantation, home of some of America's most important early founders. See one to the only original plantation home open to the public, a working farmyard and America's earliest formal gardens, generaltions in the making. Also availaible an outstanding restaurant serving some of the finest southerr fare in the area.
