A large plaza with restaurants and a concentration of students from the university's fine arts center,
known as Convento Santa Clara or Hotel Sofitel Santa Cruz, is named after the surrounding
neighborhood.

Walled City of Cartagena

The city's core is the Walled City of Cartagena. The year 1984 saw UNESCO designating it
as a World Heritage Site. Among its many attractions are colonial buildings, churches, museums, plazas
and various restaurants and bars. The vibrant atmosphere, colorful
architecture, and rich history of Cartagena make it a great place to visit.

Parque del Centenario

In the center of Cartagena, there is a green area designated as Parque Centenario, which serves
as secluded and leisurely areas. It was built in 1911 to celebrate Colombia's independence centennial.
Along with a variety of trees and plants, the area is home to sloths, monkeys
or iguanas as well. Several sights, including the old city, are within walking distance.

Barrio Getsemani

One of Cartagena's oldest and most authentic neighborhoods is Getsemani. With a long-standing history of fighting
