This was a fun tour . Daniel was a wonderful guide who has a great eye for spotting monkeys. We were able to spot three different species of monkey and also had a chance to feed one of them .
The scenery during the boat ride was beautiful... well worth the trip .

This trip was wonderful! We thought it was going to be a larger group, but it was just my friend and me with our guide Joseph, driver Antonio (?) and a canal pilot who met us at the boat dock. We took a small motor boat out from the Chagres River into Gatun Lake and wandered in an out of coves along the shores of several small islands. The islands are populated with Howler, White Faced, and Titi monkeys. With a little encouragement, they tentatively emerged from the woods to take bits of grape and banana from our hands. After a while they got a bit bolder and some even scampered onto our boat, One stole half a banana! The trip on the lake was fascinating. We were one of only two small boats in the area for much of the time, but occasionally we would be passed by one of the gigantic container ships headed through the canal. It was almost surreal! After the boat tour we took a short hike along a trail in Soberania National Park. It was a delightful experience and our very gracious guides seemed to enjoy it as much as we did. They provided the snacks for the monkeys, water and soft drinks for us, and insect repellent for our hike in the forest. At about 4 hours, it was the perfect excursion we hoped for. Highly recommended, and I would do it again!

I wish we had more time to explore Soberania National Park. We were only given about 15 minutes which was disappointing since it is so beautiful and large. The monkeys were great though.
