For two days we will discover two of the most magical places on the planet, the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the Machu Picchu. We will walk through the market of Pisac and its archaeological zone, we will visit the spectacular archaeological park of Ollantaytambo and we will take the train to Aguas calientes, that goes through a unique landscape. The next day we will watch the magical sunrise in Machu Picchu, one of the most fascinating scenes in Peru, and then we will make a fantastic guided tour of the citadel.

Day 1 Cusco - Mollepata - Challacancha - Soraypampa (Humantay Lake)
Stop At: Cusco Transport & Tours
At 4:30 am we will be picked up at our accommodation in Cusco. Once we picked up the rest of our fellow travellers, we will use car to get to the starting point of our trek. During the ride, we will be able to enjoy the incredible snowy landscapes of Salkantay and Humantay. We will stop at Mollepata for breakfast, which will be the starting point of our big trek.

Stop At: Humantay Lake
Around 9:30 am we will start our hike to Soraypampa. The first part of the route will take us through some beautiful and deep valleys. After lunch and a short break, we will continue the journey and reach the incredible Humantay Lake, whose blue-green waters reflect the front of the amazing glaciers that surround it, making it one of the most beautiful and breathtaking places in the Andes.

Stop At: Salkantay Trail
After this excursion, we will return to our base camp in Soraypampa and spend the night in the middle of the glacial valleys. A magical night awaits us where we will be able to see the stars and constellations with such clarity, that we will be speechless.

Day 2 Soraypampa - Salkantay Passage - Huayracmachay – Colpapampa
Stop At: Salkantay Trail
We will wake up early and have breakfast. Afterwards, we will start the stretch that will take us to the highest point of the journey - the Salkantay Passage at an altitude of 4,650 meters above sea level. From there, will enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding valleys and the striking snow peaks of Humantay, Tucarhuay and Pumasillo mountains.

Stop At:
We will continue downhill for roughly 5 km until we reach Huayracmachay, where we will stop to eat. After lunch, we will continue walking to the small town of Colpapampa, where we will have dinner and spend the night in a campsite that is located in a spectacular valley.

Day 3 Colpapampa -Sahuayaco Beach - Santa Teresa - Hidroeléctrica - Aguas Calientes
Stop At: Salkantay Trail
After waking up early and having breakfast, we will start our hike to the small town of Sahuayaco Beach, crossing the Santa Teresa Valley. During the trek we will be in full contact with nature, seeing rivers, waterfalls, precious wild orchids and plantations of coffee and bananas. After lunch a private bus will bring us to Santa Teresa where will be transported to Hidroélectrica. From there, we will continue on foot for about 3 hours, following the train line until arriving to Aguas Calientes.

Stop At: Hot Springs (Aguas Calientes)
Once we arrive in Aguas Calientes, we will have free time before dinner to rest, walk through the town, or visit the famous hot springs and enjoy a relaxing bath close to the clouds. We will spend the night in our inn with private rooms and bathrooms. We will go to sleep early on this night because the next day, one of the most special moments of our tour awaits us - the amazing fortress of Machu Picchu.

Day 4 Machu Picchu - Cusco
Stop At:
Today we will get up very early to enjoy one of the most magical moments the Andes have to offer - the sunrise at Machu Picchu. On the fourth and last day of the Salkantay Trek, we can either walk up to Machu Picchu or take the bus for $12 . In the fortress we will have a guided tour of 2 hours in which we will discover the fascinating history and the secrets of this ancient place. Booking in advance, for an extra $25 we can go up to Huayna Picchu or the Mountain of Machu Picchu by walking a couple of hours more (both available as extras, however, only one permitted per visit).

Stop At:
To finish our visit, we can go back to Aguas Calientes walking or by bus ($12) to take the train from there to Ollantaytambo (included). Once we are in Ollantaytambo, we will be transferred to our hotel in Cusco where we will arrive at approximately 8:00 pm.
