Our guide was a soldier who’d served under the siege and it was great to hear first hand testimony. It was a moving tour but one that I think all should experience.

Our tour guide Damir picked us up in the morning. We were taken to several locations in Sarajevo that were key during the war in the 1990's. Damir was well informed and interesting to listen to. He told us about family and friends that lived through the war in Sarajevo. It was an interesting and educational morning. Would definitely recommend the tour and our tour guide if you're visiting Sarajevo.

I knew I needed to take this tour and a colleague, who left at the start of the Siege and husband escaped via the tunnel 2 years later, agreed. For logistics alone, if you want to see the Olympics bobsled venue, the Yellow Fortress, drive along Snipers Alley, see different places where snipers accrued, understand where the Tunnel was...this tour is a no brainer. That said, our guide (never knew his name) was a youngster when the Siege started and sort of remembers it (I wish our guide was at least 10+ at the time), his history is necessary for any human who cares to understand why WAR is beyond stupid. Yes, war is stupid. Let's remember that we are ALL humans, regardless of religion, ethnicity, and beliefs. I now better understand nationalism and the difference between the Federation and Republic. Thank you so much!
