Join us for this fascinating citizen-science tour and learn about whales, wildlife and ocean conservation. Participate in micro-plastic analysis and ocean research with our onboard marine experts. Sailing among the whales in Skjalfandi Bay is the perfect way to get a greater insight into life in the ocean. During the tour, you will learn about the importance of whales in the marine ecosystem. We will use a manta trawl to take samples from the bay, which we will carefully examine in a microscope afterwards. You will also get the chance to learn the old and eco-friendly ways of sailing from our experienced and friendly sailboat crew.

We will sail from Husavik out to Skjalfandi Bay for whale watching and study whales and wildlife. During the tour, we will use a specially designed manta trawl to take examples from the bay. We will analyse the examples onboard with the help of a microscope. You will learn about ecotourism, sustainability and ocean conservation. You'll also learn the old ways of sailing and help out with hoisting the sails.
