The tour is an adventure of discovering the heritage of Java in Yogyakarta by bicycle. In this 4 hour tour will show you culture, local wisdom, and neighborhoods around the old town that visitors rarely see. We will explore the Labyrinth of streets and see the extravagant architecture of the old buildings and temples. Then we stop at the traditional market for a snack or stop at neighbor to learn how to cook simple and delicious Indonesian foods. Duration: ~ 3-4 hour Distance: ~10 km Meeting time: 07.15 AM Departure: 07.30 AM Meeting point: Raminten Kitchen Bike type: Mountain bike, City bike DETAIL: Starting in the heart of Yogyakarta, we cycle 5 km to the old town labyrinth. Feel the atmosphere of the historical area with the sights, sounds and smells. We'll pass by the local shops varying from silversmiths to chocolate makers and see the archaeological buildings, unique houses, mosque and temples. Visiting the tombs of the Mataram Kingdom will be on our itinerary. Get involved in the ceremony wearing traditional clothing (optional) and meet the Sultan servants called Abdi Dalem.
