With this trekking-tour, we’ll discover the Monte Venda along Lorenzoni path. Monte Venda, is the highest hill of the Euganean Hills and the only true mountain thank to its height over 600 m. During our walk, we’ll have the opportunity to visit the ruins of the Monastery of the Benedictines (Order of the Olivietani) monks.

With this trekking-tour, we’ll discover the Monte Venda along Lorenzoni path. Monte Venda, is the highest hill of the Euganean Hills and the only true mountain thank to its height over 600 m.
During our walk, we’ll have the opportunity to visit the ruins of the Monastery of the Benedictines (Order of the Olivietani) monks. Of the medieval building, dedicated to the St. John the Baptist, remain today just ruins, part of the Monastery, of the clocktower and of the crypt. The legends tell that is was founded in 1197 by Adamo da Torreglia who decided to spend the rest of his life here as a hermit and was after followed by the Benedictine monks of Santa Giustina of Padua.
During our walk we’ll come to know that Monte Venda has even been an important NATO base. From 1955 until 1998 the mountain was a fundamental point of information where over 500 soldiers worked.
