The lake was formed about 2000 years ago and it’s a rare geological phenomenon. It’s located 50 cm above sea level, so it’s constantly being replenished both by warm seawater (28-35oC) and the underground springs. Because of an erosion caused by the high temperature and the moisture of these spring the roof of the cave felt. During the summer it’s ideal for hot-spring baths, hydrotherapy and physiotherapy. The lake is surrounding by umbrellas and beach chairs and there is a café-bar-restaurant that serves the visitors.
