We start our tour crossing the 25 de Abril bridge (identical to the S. Francisco bridge in) towards the sanctuary of Cristo Rei
Stop At: Castelo de Palmela
Inhabited since prehistoric times, due to the privileged and strategic location, Palmela shows you traces of various cultures and the passing of time. There are several churches for you to visit and also a convent that belongs to Santiago Order now turned into a hostel. From that point you can catch sight of both "Tejo" River and Sado River.

Stop At: Parque Natural da Arrabida
Crossing the Serra da Arrábida Natural Park, one of the most complete and protected Portuguese parks over 500 meters high, with a fabulous view of the Sado river estuary, where we have a resident colony of dolphins not very common for this class of mammals. Upon booking it is possible to take a boat trip to see this fantastic family of mammals. With the whitish tones of its limestone cliffs, the blue of the waters and the green of the vegetation covering the Arrábida mountain range, a combination of colors that results in a unique image.

Stop At: Santuario Nacional de Cristo Rei
The National Sanctuary of Christ the King is located at an altitude of 133 meters above the level of the Tagus, consisting of a portico designed by the architect António Lino, 75 meters high, topped by the statue of the Blessed Redeemer with open arms facing the city of Lisbon, 28 meters high, the work of the Portuguese sculptor Francisco Franco de Sousa. The pedestal, including the portico, rises to 82 meters in height. The sanctuary and monument to Christ the King is the biggest tourist attraction in the municipality of Almada. This monument is the best viewpoint overlooking the city of Lisbon, offering a wide view over the capital and over the 25 de Abril Bridge. In numerous tourist reports about Lisbon, the sanctuary and monument to Cristo Rei, Almada's ex-libris, appear. It is one of the tallest buildings in Portugal, 110 meters high.
