Stop At: Higashichaya Old Town

Chaya is a traditional place of feasts and entertainment, where Japan’s famous geishas have been entertaining people through dances and playing traditional musical instruments since the Edo period. Higashiyama is the biggest chaya district in Kanazawa, and provides the opportunity for a glimpse into Japan’s rich cultural past. Visit Shima Geisha house built in 1820. We will have a photo shoot session in the area.

Stop At: Shima

Optional: Shima Geisha house is a historical geisha house in the Higashi Chaya teahouse district of Kanazawa. The building is now a museum and gives visitors a look at the life of the geisha who once entertained here.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Kazuemachi Tea House Street

Quiet and peaceful teahouse district. Enjoy the history of Kanazawa without crowds! Many Japanese movies were filmed in the area.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Omicho Market

Step into the shoes of Kanazawa locals with a visit to Kanazawa’s largest fresh food market, where we will have delicious lunch. (several options, at own expense)

Stop At: Nomura Family Samurai House

Explore Nomura Samurai residence for a step back in time in Bukeyashiki area and learn how samurai lived.

Stop At: Oyama Shrine

The Oyama shrine was established in 1599 with 25 meter high Dutch stained glass tower gate. Icon of the old city Kanazawa

Pass By: Gyokusen-immaru Garden

Peaceful Japanese garden with a traditional Japanese wooden bridge. Stroll around the garden on the way to Kanazawa castel.

Stop At:

Restored Nezumitamon Bridge was one of the largest wooden bridges on the castle grounds, crossing over the water-filled moat

Stop At: Kenrokuen Garden

Kenrokuen is justifiably classified as one of Japan's ‘three most beautiful landscape gardens’. The spacious grounds used to be the outer garden of Kanazawa Castle, constructed by the ruling Maeda family over a period of nearly two centuries. Opened to the public in 1871, Kenrokuen features a variety of flowering trees which provide the garden with different aspects and features depending on the season. My personal favourite is Spring, but No matter what time of year, you won’t want to miss a visit to this magnificent, quintessential Japanese garden. You cannot miss a photo session here. It is a must do!

We will pick you up/drop off in Komatsu/Kaga area.

Stop At: Kanazawa Castle

Kanazawa Castle was the seat of the Maeda Clan’s power over the Kaga Domain in Edo period Japan. The castle's thick outer walls still stand ranked and angled like a massive ziggurat, Visit to my favourite part of the castle – Ishikawamon Gate – to round out your visit. Great spot for photo shoot session.
