Castell Coch (Red Castle) is also known as the ‘fairytale castle’ thanks to its tapered turrets and conical rooves. Although actually built in the 1870s, this charming castle is medieval in style and was built as a country retreat for the third Marquess of Bute, one of Britain’s richest men.
