Day 1 Desert and stars.

Stop At: Desierto de la Tatacoa

4:00 a.m. We pick you up at your hotel or place of accommodation from Bogotá and depart to the state of Huila on a journey of approximately 8 hours with several road breaks.

Stop At: Desierto de la Tatacoa

12:00 pm. Arrival to the nearest town to the Desert (15 km) Villavieja, Huila. Check-in at the hotel, time for lunch and rest.

4:00 p.m. We begin the tour through the first area of the desert: El Cuzco. Reddish arid zone, from there we will contemplate the sunset and take advantage of the perfect scenario to take pictures.

Stop At: Astronomical Observatory Tatacoa

6:30 pm. Registration and entrance to the municipal astronomical observatory of La Tatacoa. From this geographically privileged place, due to its location close to terrestrial Ecuador and lacking in light and addictive contamination, we can observe some of the 88 constellations while together with a professional astronomer who will explain all the secrets of the celestial vault.

Day 2 Meet the locals, explore the desert.

9:00 a.m. Town tour. We will visit the urban center of Villavieja learning about the history and customs of the locals, then we embark on a boat ride along the Magdalena River that will take us to discover part of the economy of its inhabitants and fauna of the area.
