The Lares Trek to Machu Picchu is spectacular alternative hike to the Inca Trail. Taking you off the beaten track with visit to authentic Andean villages, whilst being surrounded by stunning mountain peaks, lakes and our tour starts from sacred valley of the Incas to Lares Hot springs. This fabulous trekking offers a real insight into the lives of the people of Cusco, as it once was. The tour offers starting in Pumahuanca Sacred Valley passing through the hot springs of Lares Valley and finishes in the lost city of the Incas Machu Picchu. The last day in the afternoon, you get back from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo by train and 1 hour bus to Cusco city

Day 1 Cusco - Pumahuanca - Puyoc (Base Camp).

Stop At: Sacred Valley of the Incas

We leave early in the morning to Sacred Valley of the Incas (Pumahuanca) where you start hiking all the way up the valley to get the first lunch place, covering approx 14 km in total, along the way there is a small Inca site CHUPANI to explore, native plants, spectacular rocky mountains and a small crystalline stream along the hike to get the BASE campsite Puyoc.

Day 2 Puyoc Base Camp - Black Lake - Cunkani Andean Village

Stop At:

After breakfast, we start ascending for three hours to reach the highest point of the expedition Siclla Qasa pass at 4850m – 15,682 ft. After the summit you start going down to the lunch spot Yanacocha lake. Today you see beautiful sceneries, landscapes, andean lakes, potato fields and local people dressed in their traditional bright red clothing. The campsite is going to be close to a small Quechua village Cuncani.

Day 3 Cunkani Village - Lares Hot Springs - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

Stop At: Lares Hot Springs

After organic breakfast, you only hike in the morning focusing to meet local Quechua people, see typical andean huts and Llamas on the way to the hot springs that takes you in 2 hours. After enjoying the hot springs comes the lunch, therefore since the hot springs the trip is easier because you take bus to Ollantaytambo, then train to Aguas Calientes to spend the last night in a hotel before to visit Machu Picchu Note: Spot to tip your team of Lares Trek

Day 4 Aguas Calientes - Macchu Picchu - Ollaantaytammbo - Cusco

Stop At: Santuario Historico de Machu Picchu

The tours starts very early in the morning to take the first bus up to Machu Picchu to visit the citadel. The guided tour in Machu Picchu lasts 2 hour, during this tour you will explore the most important temples of the citadel. After the guided tour you have free time to walk around the site by yourself. In the afternoon you will take the train back to Ollantaytambo where you will carry on by bus to Cusco city.
