You will learn how cheese, cold cuts, and specific typical spreads and products are traditionally produced in the alpine area and how to best serve them. After knowing why it tastes as delicious as it is, you will learn to properly cut and arrange the fine foods to get the perfect Austrian charcuterie board. After all the cooking and learning, you’ll sit down with your instructor to enjoy the meal along with the wines and will have time to get to know more about Austria and its typical dishes. Our classes take place in our private, independent cooking school with an amazing, new Show Kitchen furnished with the most modern cooking ware by Miele (yep, the famous cooking appliance producer) in Salzburg.

The 'Marende' is the traditional charcuterie plate which is enjoyed in the alpine area during the day as one of the bigger snacks or as lunch. A lot of austrian families also have it as dinner with a wider selection of cheeses and charcuterie.
The typical marende consists of different artisanal delicious cheese, variantions of speck (typical bacon) along homemade bread, pickled treats such as a variety of dry-cured and smoked meat delicacies.
You will learn how to prepare the typical traditional charcuterie plate called ‘Marende’ under the watchful eye of an instructor. As this is a private cooking class, we can adapt to all your dietary needs or wishes. You'll have all the personalized attention while you cook, then sit down to enjoy your meal with two perfectly paired wines selected by our sommelier that cares for our wine education courses.
