Experience the energy and flavours of a Japanese kitchen in the nation's capital of food! Under the guidance of a local, bilingual chef, you will use professional grade tools (hand-made here in Osaka) to make local dishes completely from scratch and learn to recreate them in at home with our step by step instructions! You will discover cooking techniques, learn about Japanese food culture, and have some fun before sitting down with a cold beer or a warm to tea to enjoy your creations alongside your chef and a small group of travellers from around the world!

When most people hear Japanese food, they think of sushi, sashimi and tempura, but this is only one side of the story.

This course teaches about real home style cooking and lets you discover the tastes and techniques of Japanese home cooking.



You will make miso soup from scratch as well as three seasonal side dishes before the main event, which will combine three Japanese favourites: fresh ginger, pork loin and fragrant shiso leaves! The grand finale is a lesson in making mochi, a traditional Japanese dessert made with rice flour and Okinawan kuromitsu honey. After the tasting time you will take a break with Japanese brown rice green tea.
