This is a typical itinerary for this product

Day 1 Shuttle to Pittsburgh from Cumberland Maryland then ride approximately 31 miles to West Newton Pennsylvania

Stop At: Great Allegheny Passage

Day-One is typically a 35-mile ride that begins at Point State Park in downtown Pittsburgh and goes to West Newton Pennsylvania. This day is a customer favorite as the trail begins as a car-free passage through a busy urban area, then transitions to a tree lined canopy that passes through several old small coal "patch" towns that still retain the feel of the coal and railroad heydays.

Duration: 6 hour

Day 2 Ride 51 miles from West Newton PA to Confluence PA

Stop At: Great Allegheny Passage

On Day-Two riders begin with a gourmet breakfast and coffee service before heading down the trail. This day includes passing through many interesting towns, including Connellsville and Ohiopyle Pennsylvania. Riders travel at their own pace and can stop whenever they choose for food and breaks. Riders are provided a "Que" sheet each day with points of interest and recommendations for additional activities and lunch options.

Duration: 6 hour

Day 3 Ride approximately 20 miles from Confluence PA to Rockwood PA with optional side trips

Stop At: Great Allegheny Passage

Day-3 is also a customer favorite because of the ability to take a vacation within your vacation. Since the ride is only 20 miles this day, most customers choose to take a side trip of kayaking 11 miles down the Youghiogheny River or visiting the world famous Frank Lloyd Wright house, "Fallingwater". The riding this day is also fantastic as you pass through dense forest and go through the first of many tunnels on the trail.

Duration: 2 hour

Day 4 Ride 43 miles back to Cumberland MD with the last 23 miles DOWNHILL!!!

Stop At: Great Allegheny Passage

Day-4 is possibly the best day of all as you will experience most of the dramatic railroad features of the trail. This includes 3 tunnels (one of which is over 1/2 mile long), and 2 long bridges. You will also pass through the charming town of Meyersdale Pennsylvania that has an amazing restored railroad station and museum. But everyone's favorite part of Day-4 is cruising the last 23 miles of the trail downhill into Cumberland. This is a wonderful way to end your journey as you reach Cumberland and can celebrate with a meal and beverages at many great venues.
