Stop At: Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque

Muscat province is considered the beating heart of Oman. Perhaps what is surprising about the Muscat Governorate and its estates is the impressive mix of ancient cultural heritage and modern flair. This allows Oman to preserve its historical character, while enjoying its contemporary flair. Your private guide will meet you at the exit of the port and you will start the tour by driving to the magnificent Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, one of the most beautiful architectural works of the Bawshar district is like a radiant beacon that attracts its visitors to interact with them. The spirit of Islam as religion, science and civilization. This mosque highlights its role as a scientific and intellectual source of knowledge throughout the Islamic world. The mosque was built over a period of 6 years, from 1995 to 2001. Non-Muslims can visit the mosque every day except Friday from 8:00 to 11:00. Visitors are asked to dress modestly and in a manner appropriate for places of worship (long pants or skirts and long sleeves for women). Women are also required to cover their hair. Visit of Bait Al Zubair. We continue along Al Bustan Street towards the old town, popularly known as "Old Muscat" and make a short stop for photos at the official residence of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos; Al-Alam Palace. The palace is an architectural marvel both for its design and for its location between the two Portuguese forts Mirani and Jalali. Lastly, we drive through the waterfront corniche and visit Mutrah Souq, one of the oldest markets in Oman, dating back some two hundred years. Its antiquity has perhaps increased the scope of its beauty, magic and charm. Mutrah Souq cannot be seen from the outside as it extended deep within the city. We then continue driving to the old town locally known as Old Muscat and visit (just a short picture from the outside). After the tour we will take you back to the Port. Price includes: 1: bus with air conditioning. 2: Spanish speaking guide 3: water bottle on board. 4: Bait Al Zubair museum entrance 5: all fees and taxes.
