After the pick up in your hotel, the journey leads to Monte, a welcoming place where you can find stunning views and visit Nossa Senhora do Monte church, a building from de XVIII century and the most important place of pilgrimage in Madeira. You also have the possibility to down the street by our renowned attraction, the Tobbogan Ride at the basket cars. The tour proceeds to the Botanical Garden, one of the most pleasant gardens in the region, with splendid views overlooking the city of Funchal which covers an area of 80,000 m², is home to a collection of a wide variety of plants and has a Museum of Natural History. Perched up in the hills, overlooking Funchal, this parish if famous for it's church, gardens and basket tobogan ride. The Austrian Emperor Charles I found exile here during the First World War. He was later buried in the famouse pilgrimage churce "Nossa Senhora do Monte".

The climate conditions here, are much in favour of exuberant vegetation. With 35 square kilometers, these gardens are full of harmonious forms, contrasting colours and more than 2000 exotic plantes.
