Stop at many places and try local Gunma food such as miso oden (savory root-veggie jelly), fried smelt fish from the lake, hot cocoa soup with red bean & mochi, and miso ramen. The lake is surrounded by bright azaleas in the spring, vibrant greenery in the summer, and colorful leaves in the fall. Plus, stop at the high lookout point for panoramic views of Japan's central eastern plains.
