We want visitors to leave with the feeling that they truly experienced Romanian and gained an insight into the Romanian way of life.

Itinerary

Mama Maradin’s Traditional Romanian Cooking class invites tourists for an evening of cooking and dining the Romanian way.

You will enjoy a glass of homemade Visinata or Palinca while you actively participate in preparing and cooking a traditional Romanian meal with Mama Maradin in a very warm atmosphere, listening to a nice traditional pan flute music.

First you will taste some type of Romanian cheese and meat prepared in traditional ways, from local producers.

Then I'll teach you how to prepare a main course, browned in the oven, named "bulz "țărănesc"- with polenta, cheese and fried pork meat .

At the end you 'll learn the Romanian traditional desert recipie of "poale-n brâu" (cheese pie in a very special shape).

You will learn all about the ingredients used in Romanian food and hear stories of what it was like to grow up in the countryside during the communist period...

Once the meal is prepared, you'll join Mama Maradin and her family at the dinner table where they will enjoy the fruit of their labour and some excellent Romanian wine.

So, you'll go home with an unforgettable Romanian souvenir, to share with your family and your friends: a traditional Romanian recipe.

  • Dinner - We'll serve what we just prepared toghether, like in a family. We'll start with visinată or pălinka and finish with a Romanian glass of wine. Natural apples juice, watter,sesonal fruit will be served.
