This massive fortress has been sitting on top of the hills of Sintra for more than 1000 years. Formerlly occupied by the Arabs and also by the Kingdom of Castilla and Leon (Spain) until it was taken by the Portuguese, never to know different occupants again.

Stop At: Park and National Palace of Pena
What was originally a monastery, was later converted into an eye-catching palace, home to romance and betrayal.
