Stop At: Phnom Penh
Our English-speaking driver will pick you up from your hotel in Phnom Penh Capital and transfer you to Kampot (about 160km, 3 hours drive).
Duration: 3 hour
Stop At: Kampot
Arrival in Kampot town. You will visit the iron bridge that crosses the Kampot River. It is an old bridge that was built in the French colony. Then, visit the old buildings and go to Phnom Chhngok Cave temple.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Phnom Chhngok Cave Temple
Travelling to Phnom Chhngok Cave Temple is off the road to Kep, but travelling there on the winding dirt road could be very tiring. However, passing past scenic views of the Cambodian countryside, featuring paddy fields, small farms and limestone formations covered in dense vegetation, should suitably compromise. The largest cave is the home of an ancient red-brick temple resting under a massive rock formation resembling an eagle. Chhngok Cave temple was probably erected during the 7th century, particularly within a pre-Angkorian era known as the Funan period in Cambodia.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At:
Secret Lake or Brateak Krola Lake isn't really a lake at all. The secret lake is actually a dam. During the Khmer Rouge era, a dam was built with slave labor. It's a huge lake, especially for a man-made one. It is well worth the journey. This is the Cambodia we had hoped to discover.
Duration: 15 minutes
Stop At: La Plantation
La Plantation is a social and sustainable family project, the perfect combination of traditional farming and modern processing. At La Plantation, we produce Black, Red, White Kampot pepper and the exclusive Fresh Salted Kampot Pepper, Red Long Pepper, Turmeric, Bird Chili and local fruits. Grown traditionally and harvested by hand, our spices are processed with high standards in quality and hygiene and are certified organic by Ecocert. Presentation, tasting and free guided tour in English, French, and Khmer. You will understand why Kampot Pepper has been elected #1 best pepper in the world.
