We'll visit the Caribbean area of Guatemala, hidden in between Banana Plantations we'll discover the great and imposing Archaeological site of Quiriguá filled with its unique monuments and the amazing 10 meters high Carved Mayan Stelae. Moving east, we'll arrive at Río Dulce. Visit what used to be a Pirate Fortress dated from the 1600s. Then, we'll discover a different face of Guatemala: Livingston, with its unique Garífuna culture thanks to an Afro-descendant heritage, decorated with beautiful white sand beaches and natural pools. On our way back and to finish our adventurous experience, we'll introduce into the green tropical jungle to get to a sacred place for the Mayan-Qeqchi communities, feel welcomed with a Mayan Ceremony that will intervene for us to give us permission to access The Tiger Caves where a beautiful mountain river passes through.

Day 1 Mayan Archeology
Stop At: Guatemala City
We´ll pick you up at the lobby of your hotel at 5 am in the morning, so we have enough time to visit all the places we planned for today. Don´t worry, you can take a nap on the bus until we make our first stop to take breakfast.

We will make a stop here to take breakfast. You´ll get the energy you need to enjoy this day of adventure.

Stop At: Archaeological Park and Ruins of Quirigua
At this point, we'll arrive at the department of Izabal, our first stop will be at Quiriguá, a Mayan Caribbean site that dates back 400 years before Christ which was known by its big stelae with impressive carved glyphs and Mayan governors.

Stop At:
After our visit to the Archeological Site of Quiriguá, we´ll go to the east and visit Río Dulce, one of the biggest lakes of Guatemala. You´ll be impressed with its beautifulness and wildlife. It will take us an hour and a half to get there, enjoy the road! Once we get to Río Dulce, we´ll take lunch prior to continuing. Bon appetite

Stop At: Castillo de San Felipe de Lara
Visit the riverside “San Felipe Castle” and enjoy the breeze of the Caribbean Lake. This castle was built in the middle of the 17th century during the Spanish colonial era. It served as a defense against pirates. You´ll enjoy this lovely castle.

At the end of our tour, we´ll move to the hotel. You´ll have free time to enjoy the hotel amenities and relax. At night we´ll enjoy dinner and get ready for the second day.

Day 2 Boat Ride to the Caribbean
Stop At:
We´ll start the day with a delicious breakfast. It will be served at 8 am and then, we´ll do the check out from the hotel and go to the boat deck to start our adventurous day.

Stop At: Livingston
This day will be full of wild fauna and flora, we'll take a boat ride through a great canyon, visit the Island of birds and an aquatic garden of Lily Pads, lotus flowers, and more. Continuing our boat ride we'll arrive at Livingston where the local Garífuna Culture is located, which’s the shore of the Atlantic Ocean with beautiful white sand beaches and natural pools. After the aquatic tour and the visit to Livingston Town, we´ll take a tasteful lunch.

Have a lovely time in this paradisiacal place of natural pools with turquoise colors. Breath fresh air, enjoy the breeze and the weather, and create great memories here!

At the end of the day, we´ll move to the hotel. Take a break, relax and enjoy. After your free time, we´ll have dinner and appreciate a Garifuna dance show.

Day 3 Natural and Sacred Caves
Stop At: Livingston
Waking up at Livingston gives you calm and refreshing sunrises. We´ll take a delicious breakfast and after that, we´ll check out from the hotel and start our day.

Stop At:
After breakfast, we'll take a boat ride through the green forest creeks to get to the Tiger Cave and discover the practices of the Mayan Qeqchi community, and we’ll walk inside this impressing cave with a precious river passes through. Then enjoy a local lunch at a Floating Restaurant at the Canyon with fun slides for you to swim at the lake. After lunch, we’ll return to the bus and to Guatemala City.

Enjoy your way back to the City. You can either take a nap, appreciate the landscapes or just enjoy the road. We´ll take you safe and sound back to your hotel in Guatemala City.
