In a small alley located in the picturesque village of Sóller, you will find the this Finca, a Mallorquian house which has the oldest active mill in Mallorca and uses the traditional method of production using grinding wheels and hydraulic presses.

Its history dates back to the sixteenth century, a time when there are documents that already certify its existence. Unlike the industrial oil production plants, the finca is dedicated to the production of the olive groves of the Serra de Tramuntana. The oil resulting from its processing is usually dedicated to the consumption of the families owners of the neighboring fincas.

The master of the house explains to visitors how the native olive oil is made from one of the oldest varieties of olives in Spain. The process starts with handpicking the olives of the own fields in nearby Biniaratx. Practically the only thing that has changed in the production over the last 400 years is that electricity has replaced mule power since 1930.
