The chinampas considered floating gardens of Xochimilco are among the last & unique in the world, designed by mesoamerican farmers, they were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987. The 2 hour Trajinera ride (colorful boat) accompanied by a guide, also an entrance to a local herpetarium where you can see the axolotls, endemic animals of the Valley of Mexico and their physical pecularites.
