Stop At: Rocca Paolina

We will start from Piazza Italia to go down to the Rocca Paolina, an entire underground district buried by the papal will that will transport us back and forth in time, from the Etruscans to Garibaldi and La Belle Epoque. We will see the Porta Marzia, ancient southern entrance to the Etruscan city with remains inscriptions and papal coat of arms.

Stop At: Corso Vannucci

Then we will continue to the living room of the city, Corso Vannucci, dedicated to Perugino, a painter whose masterpiece (the Collegio del Cambio) remains unique throughout Italy: it is a 1500 bank completely frescoed by the artist. In the Corso the terraces of the bars, the windows of the beautiful clothing shops and those of typical products alternate.

Stop At: Piazza IV Novembre

We will arrive in Piazza IV Novembre where the Fontana Maggiore proudly dominates, a compendium of popular wisdom of the thirteenth century, next to the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, the Palazzo dei Priori and the Palazzo dei Notari. In the square we play with the “corner views”, we will go around it to take some surprising photos

Stop At: Porta Sole

We will end up at the Porta Sole viewpoint and here we will see another peculiarity of Perugia and that is how the city is set in the landscape of soft green hills covered with silvery olive groves.
