Romantic Florence is a city of art overflowing with rich history. In fact, the reminders of its grandeur hide around every corner and behind every door. There is so much to see that, at times, it’s hard to decide which places to visit during your trip. One of the museums you should not miss is Galleria Degli Uffizi of the Medici Family which features the oldest and most renowned art collections in the world. Unsurprisingly...

One of the museums you should not miss is Galleria Degli Uffizi of the Medici Family which features the oldest and most renowned art collections in the world. Unsurprisingly, this makes it one of the most visited museums in Florence. Getting in is not always a walk down a red carpet. Purchasing the Uffizi Gallery tickets will allow you to have entrance to the museum with its 60 halls of art history without the hassle, and explore at you own pace.

Undoubtedly, when it comes to Uffizi Gallery, Florence can be more than proud of its heritage. The origin of the Galleria degli Uffizi goes back to the period of the splendor of the Republic. Cosimo I de’Medici, first Gran Duque of Tuscany, commissioned the construction between 1560 and 1580. The building was initially meant to serve as offices for judges, merchants, and magistrates of Florence. The gallery as we know it today officially opened its door two hundred years later in 1769.

The Uffizi entrance fee entails a whimsical art journey through time. There are over  50 rooms filled with art pieces ranging from 12th to 16th century. You will witness works of Gothic painters like Giotto and Cimabue; renaissance painters such as Paolo Uccello and Masaccio; as well as stunning paintings such as Allegory of Spring and the Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli.

We couldn't get tickets our last trip for the Uffizzi Gallery and at last we were able to see it. You can't even explain to anyone the beauty of it all until you have actually been there to view it. Fantastic tour and one we will never forget.

We went to the address provided to pick up the tickets. No one was there, no desk, no company, nothing. Empty. We called the phone, disconnected. We were lucky to find a representative outside the museum and he informed us that our tickets were cancelled and seeing that the line was not so long, we could just buy new ones and hop in line. They said the company would refund our money. I wrote an email and still haven’t heard from them. I wrote viator and am still waiting for a response and refund. What a scam!!! Don’t waste the extra money when you can go in person to the museum and buy the same “skip the line” ticket for what ever time slot you want that day. Worst service ever.

There is no such thing as a skip the line ticket in Florence because a whole lot of other people will have also bought skip the line tickets. So you either stand in the regular line or the skip-the-line line. I think skip the line might move faster, though. The Gallery is great and a do not miss experience.

Saved us lots of time we would have otherwise spent in line. We had to stop by the ticket office a few blocks away and then a rep from the tour company walked us over to where we needed to be.

It was raining cats and dogs so we decided last minute to go to the Uffizi
The local organization was helpful and we could enter
the museum passing long queues
