This day adventure takes you deep into the south of Tasmania so you can explore the highlights of this stunning region. We drive through the historic riverside village of Franklin which still honours the traditional craft of building wooden boats. Then it's time to head to the Far South: HASTINGS CAVES & THERMAL SPRINGS (cost included) Explore the thermal-spring pool and surrounds. Then step into the largest dolomite cave that is open to visitors in Australia. See spectacular stalactites, columns, shawls and stalagmites. TAHUNE ADVENTURES (cost included) Walk in the treetops on the Tahune airwalk, cross a swinging bridge, see Huon pines and relish the views of the surrounding forest on this two-hour forest adventure. LUNCH AT THE KERMANDIE HOTEL (cost excluded) Enjoy a delicious lunch with a view (October to April). Built in 1932, the Kermandie Hotel remains the heart of Port Huon, offering charming, comfortable accommodation, great food, a fully restored bar and its own marina.

Stop At: Hastings Caves and Thermal Springs
Walk down into the rainforest, adoring the magnificent ferns along the way. Warm up with a 15 to 20-minute dip in a thermal pool that is fed by natural springs. Then, head underground at Hastings Caves with a specialist guide to get the low-down on the dramatic dolomite cave, one of only two of its kind in Australia.

Stop At: Tahune Adventures
From water to sky, walk high amongst the treetops at Tahune Adventures. See some of the oldest trees living trees in Australia on the Huon Pine Trail, swing across a river on the swinging bridge, and walk 30 metres above the forest floor on the airwalk.
