In 1939, El Banco de la República started a project to preserve and protect the Colombian archeological heritage. Its purpose was the acquisition, management, and exhibition of pieces of jewelry and pottery from pre-Columbian indigenous cultures. Now, this museum has the world’s largest pre-Hispanic gold collection with 55,000 pieces and 6,000 pieces that are on display in their adapted building. On this tour, you will be picked up at your hotel at 10:00 am to be taken to the Museum.
