Stop At: San Juan Chamula

We'll pick you up at the hotel, you'll be on your way to your first destination. At your arrival to the mystic town of San Juan Chamula, a local guide will explain you the history of the area and you’ll visit the church of San Juan Bautista, where you’ll be able to see the temple. Surprise at its beautiful and simple inside decoration, as well as with its stunning exterior façades. Once you’re there, you’ll get a glimpse of the artistic beauty of the insides of the church and its shrines, with Catholic figures dressed as the native costumes, dictate.

Stop At: Zinacantan

Next, you’ll be taken to the indigenous community of Zinacantan, where you’ll visit San Lorenzo’s church, besides of seeing the works of the local women who use the waist loom to create magnificent textile pieces, such as “huipiles” (ponchos), tablecloths, quilts, and pillow cushions. You’ll also visit the house of a family with whom you’ll taste the local liqueurs, as you watch the working on the waist loom. You’ll have plenty of time to walk around the local crafts markets and take a look around the well-preserved churches.
