Three-day tour in Tusheti cover major places of high mountain region of Georgia. Tusheti one of the most beautiful regions of Georgia is located to the north slope of the watershed of the Caucasus ridge. Tusheti is divided on to three main gorges: Chaghma, Pirikiti and Gometsari gorges. The authentic nature and traditions of mountain people is still kept in the region. Local people still live in the houses with towers, most of them were built in medieval period. Apart to the authentic nature, you will be introduced with the local history, traditions which have not been changed for centuries, holy places, those take start from the pre-Christian period and is still actual. The unique architecture which is possible to see only here, legends and myths, the most interesting pictographs (hidden signs). Finally you will taste local food. As many travelers say "traveling in Tusheti, you loose reality, you feel that you are above the land and seems that sky is different".

Day 1 Getting to Tusheti
Stop At: Gombori Pass
We will drive from Tbilisi to Tusheti via Gombori Pass (1620m). Gombori road is spectacular any time of year. Small idyllic villages, magnificent sceneries of Alazani valley and Caucasus Mountains, panoramic views, sheep flocks, ancient forests, beautiful meadows and sea of clouds are just a short list of what awaits you on this road.

Stop At: Alaverdi Monastery
Alaverdi St. George Cathedral (first half of the 11th century) is located 18 km from the town of Telavi in the Alazani-River valley. Earliest structures of Alaverdi Monastery date back to 6th century. The present day Cathedral is part of an 11th century Georgian Orthodox monastery. The Monastery was founded by the monk Joseph [Abba] Alaverdeli, who came from Antioch and settled in Alaverdi, then a small village and the former pagan religious centre dedicated to Moon. Alaverdi is the highest cathedral in Georgia (up to 50 meters). It dominates the surrounding landscape in a fertile river valley against the backdrop of the Caucasus Mountains.

Abano Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.864m (9,396ft) above the sea level, located in the region of Tusheti, Georgia, in the central part of the Great Caucasus Mountains. It is the highest drivable mountain pass in the Caucasus. 4x4 vehicles with high clearance only. It's one of the highest roads of Europe.

Stop At: Tusheti National Park
The visitor's center of Tusheti National Park is located in village Omalo. We can stop for the few minutes after the long distance off-road.

Stop At: Shenako
Shenako will be the first village we visit. is located in Tusheti Protected Areas, specifically in Chagmatusheti on 2080 meters above sea level. St. George's Church in Shenako stands on the outskirts of the village, to the east. It belongs to the 19th c.

Stop At: Diklo
Village Diklo is located in Tusheti Protected Areas, specifically in Chagmatusheti on 2150 meters above sea level. About 2km past Diklo, which is 4km northeast of Shenaqo, the Dzveli Diklo fortress perches on a spectacular rock promontory looking east to Dagestan (Russia).

Stop At: Omalo
Village Omalo is a principal village in the historical region of Tusheti, Georgia. Administratively, it is part of the Akhmeta District in Kakheti. In the Zemo (upper) Omalo we will visit Keselo Towers, this place served as a refuge for locals in wartime

Day 2 Pirikiti Valley
Stop At: Dartlo
After breakfast, we'll start driving to Pirikiti Valley and visit some more villages. Here, in village Dartlo you will find out courtroom where even female judges were held. Beside that we will visit Tusheti towers, which are included in the UNESCO tentative list of protected monuments and which was restored after the distraction with the village Dartlo.

Another village with spectacular views, towers, internal infrastructure. On the towers still survived pictograms.

Stop At: Girevi
Girevi is a hamlet in Kakheti and has an elevation of 2,084 metres. Girevi is situated nearby to Dakiurta, and east of Hegho.

Day 3 Gometsari Valley
Stop At:
On the last day we will visit the third valley of Tusheti, called Gometsari Vally. Here we will visit villages Bochorna, which is the higes populated point in Europe above sea level (2345), Dochu,and Jvarboseli. After that we will get back Tbilisi. On the way we will have lunch, you will also meet many other villages and hamlets, many waterfalls and ravines, if lucky enough Niamors and many other rare species of animals and birds. In the afternoon we'll start driving back to Tbilisi. We will arrive to Tbilisi late in the evening.
