Stop At: Amalfi Coast
Depart from your Sorrento hotel in the morning for your private day trip to the Amalfi Coast on the back of a classic Vespa. Cruise along the southern side of Italy’s Sorrentine Peninsula as your guide safely maneuvers you around the extraordinary curves of this UNESCO World Heritage–listed coast. Strap on your helmet and adjust your shades as you capture memories of this famous coastline.

Stop At: Sorrento
Ease into your Vespa ride exploring Sorrento, a charming town famous for limoncello and views of the Bay of Naples, where it is said that the Roman emperor Caligula built a bridge of boats across the bay and rode across in a chariot. In the distance, see the island of Capri and Mt Vesuvius.

Stop At: Positano
Then, venture with your guide to Positano, a former fishing village that acted as a port of the Amalfi Republic in medieval times. Now it’s full of dazzling restaurants and cliffside hotels. Dismount here for a stroll and marvel at the steeply stacked houses cascading down to the ocean. Enjoy a break for cake and coffee an hour into the tour, and then continue to the town of Amalfi, the former trading power in the Mediterranean in the 9th and 10th centuries. At lunch time, grab a traditional Italian meal at a local restaurant in the lovely Atrani (own expense) to enjoy the most genuine traditional Mediterranean cuisine.
