Only 15 Minutes away from Lucerne you find Mt. Stanserhorn. Easy to reach by car or train. Once you've reached Stans, you find the valley station right in the middle of the village Stans - the capitol of the canton of Nidwalden. The journey to Mt. Stanserhorn starts with the old vintage funicular train which dates back to 1893. The ride along farm sites, meadows and forest takes 8 minutes. In the middle station you change onto the CabriO cable car. The world's first and still world's only aerial cable car with an open top. An enjoyable 7 minute ride to the top of Mt. Stanserhorn. A nice breeze on your face and open sky above you. A view onto a chain of 100 kilometers of the Swiss Alps and 10 Swiss lakes awaits you walking out the mountain station.
