Trinity College was founded by Henry VIII in 1546. See Trinity College's famous Great Gate with its statue of Henry VIII and the adjacent rooms of Isaac Newton.

St John's was founded in 1511 by Lady Margaret Beaufort, the mother of Henry VII and grandmother of Henry VIII. It has arguably the most striking gate house in Cambridge.

Stop At: Great St Mary's Church (Church of England)

Great St Mary's is a parish church and the University church. A church has stood on the site since the 13th century. The present building was constructed mostly between 1478 to 1519. Two Kings helped with the cost, Richard III and Henry VII. Queen Elizabeth I addressed the University inside the church during her visit to Cambridge in 1564.
