The Palazzo Spadolini was once a tribunal against heretics, were women were put on trial for witchcraft and scientist such as Galileo were tortured by the Dominicans. Also on the Piazza is the only Church with a Pagan name: Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, a church built upon the Temple to the goddess Isis.
