Stop At: Thingvellir National Park

Thingvellir is characterized by a tectonic rift valley and marks the rifting of the Eurasian and North American plates from each other. In 930 the Icelandic Parliament, the first democracy in the world, was established at Thingvellir. Thingvellir became a World Heritage Site in 2004. Öxarárfoss is a waterfall at Thingvellir.

Enjoy the beautiful waterfall Öxarárfoss, located in Thingvellir National Park

Stop At: Gullfoss

Near Geysir is the beautiful Gullfoss Waterfall. Enjoy the view from above and walk down the path to get close to the powerful waterfall.

Stop At: Fridheimar

At Friðheimar, tomatoes are cultivated in a greenhouse. A lunch in the restaurant, in the greenhouse, is a very rare food experience, not to be missed. The main ingredients are of course, tomatoes are grown there. They serve the best tomato soup in the world.

Unwind and relax in the Old swimming pool that we also call the Secret Lagoon.

Stop At: Geysir

You probably did not know that the English name “geyser”, derives from the one and only in the Haukadalur area. The geyser Geysir itself erupts boiling water up to 70 meters but is almost inactive. Strokkur, only a few meters apart from Geyser, erupts on average every 7 minutes.
