Stop At: Krusedol Monastery

Enjoy an approx. 1-hour drive through the scenic Pannonian Plain adjoined with guide’s informative introduction talk, before you reach the area of Fruška Gora – the Serbian Holy Mountain, home to 16 monasteries. We will continue to the multi-cultural town of Sremski Karlovci, once the seat of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the Habsburg Monarchy, As you stroll through the town’s baroque architecture, hear about the history of the Karlowitz Peace Treaty signing, as well as the town’s reputation for wine. This is home to Bermet, one of a kind dessert wine in the world. Of this royal nectar, once a favorite in all European courts, only 15 to 20 thousand bottles per year are being produced. Stop At: Petrovaradin Fortress
After seeing the Tekije Church, the site of a famous battle between the Ottomans and the Habsburgs next highlight to admire is the stunning views from the Petrovaradin Fortress located on the 40 m high volcanic rock above the Danube. Here you will learn about the complicated maze of underground tunnels and galleries, part of the state-of-the-art defense system.

The last stop on your tour is the historic center of Vojvodina’s capital, Novi Sad, where a leisurely walk with your guide will take you past the Orthodox Cathedral, Bishop's Palace, and the monument to great Serbian poet Zmaj, finishing at the Liberty Square, home to the baroque City Hall and the neo-gothic Catholic church. During 1.5-hour free time explore Novi Sad’s center on your own or just sit back and relax while observing the locals.
