The Buenos Aires Asado adventure
Participate in making a typical weekend family Asado (local BBQ) that Argentina is famous for! From shopping for ingredients to learning how to cook meat, it's the ultimate Asado experience!
• Shop for all the Asado ingredients just like a local, then learn how to prep the meat and build the fire, before finally enjoying the delicious lunch prepared by a master Parrillero (local grill master)
• Red wine is included
• Visit the butcher shop, the bakery, and the wine store, all the while walking the cobblestone streets of Palermo Viejo. Then head back to a local home to help prepare the Asado
• Communal dining experience for up to 6 people
• Frank loves to eat and to travel, and also ran a very popular chili cookoff in Buenos Aires to raise funds for nonprofit organizations
About your host, Frank: My name is Frank and I've been living in Argentina since 1999. Back in 2001 I left the corporate world and took my first entrepreneurial steps. I helped start an organic preserves brand and Argentina’s first gourmet cookie brand. Now I want to share Argentina's culinary secrets with you.
Eatwith is the world's largest online marketplace for unique culinary experiences with locals. Savor local food and enjoy intimate supper clubs, hands-on cooking classes and bespoke private dining events in beautiful homes and exclusive venues with your loved ones.
Wellness Check: We ask all hosts and guests to confirm that they are free of COVID-19 symptoms before attending an Eatwith event. We also ask all participants to limit physical interactions including bypassing the customary welcome handshake.
Argentine Asado (BBQ)
Picada
Dried and aged artisan salami from Tandil; pickles, and cheese with a fernandito (Fernet and Coke)
Salads
Salads
There will be two salads: Potatoe & Egg Salad and a Spinach, Mango salad with caremalized pecans
1st Course
Achuras
It's the opening salvo of meat before the main course. We could have choriso, sweetbreads, matambrito, etc.
Main Course
Picanha or Bife de Chorizo
This is the star of the show, Argentina's finest cuts of steak. We can have either cut depending on availability. Picanha is actually a Brazilian cut that is starting to gain popularity here.
Dessert
Mate Quemado & Vigilantes
This is a unique way of drinking mate that not even many Argentines know and we pair it with a traditional Argentine dessert
