Celebrate Carnival of Viareggio - virtual masterclass

Carnival of Viareggio is one of the most important Carnival events of Italy and Europe. It became famous through time thanks to its unique story, its strong identity, and its big floats.

This year it's going to be a little different. Join host Sandra for a VIRTUAL Carnival of Viareggio celebration! She'll teach you how to make two classic carnival dishes - TORDELLO (raviolo) or STUFFED CABBAGE LEAFS served with a tomato sauce and CHIACCHERE (sweet fried cookies).

What you need to know:

TORDELLO (raviolo)or STUFFED CABBAGE LEAFS served with a tomato sauce:

PASTA (prtion for 3 people)
300 gr. white flour 00
3 eggs pinch of salt
100 gr. Pork mincemeat
100gr. Beef mincemeat
50gr prosciutto or mortadella
1 carrot
1 stem of celery
1 onion
2 cloves of garlic
1 glass of wine
parsley
black pepper
5/6 tablespoons of parmigiano
2 teaspoons of sugar
500 gr. little tomatoes
1 garlic
basil
salt
1 tea spoon of sugar
chilly pepper

CABBAGE LEAFS
Suffed with meat or patatoes and mushrooms

CHIACCHERE (sweet fried cookies):
250gr. White flour
½ glass of white wine
1 intere egg and 1 youlk
pinch of salt
2 spoons of butter
grated lemon zest
sun flower oil
icing sugar

About your host, Sandra: "I have been offering cooking classes in Rome for the past 10 years. The experience of teaching and hosting new people at home and online is really fun! Having grown up in northern Tuscany, I spent several years in Milan and now live in Rome. I have a broad knowledge of the country’s many and varied wonderful dishes. I started cooking when I was little with my parents, and I've worked in restaurants and villas in Tuscany. Today I'm a professional and I attended a famous TV show on sky 1 2020."
