Kigali City Tour with a Local Guide and Driver

Kigali is a lovely city,and Ange is a wonderful drive guide her itinerary is well planned. I wish I had more time to visit more of Rwanda but unfortunately I had just one day to spare. I enjoyed the local food and the coffee tastes really !I made sure to buy enough coffe to take back home! I will definitely come back and Ange will be my guide, I recommend her services to anyone who wish to see Kigali in a short period of time.

We had an amazing city tour in Kigali with Ange. She took us to so many interesting places, including the local market, which was a great experience. We were also told that the Kigali Genocide Memorial is a mustvisit. It’s a sad part of history, but it’s important to understand the journey of this beautiful and fastdeveloping country. It was our first time in East Africa, and we completely fell in love with Rwanda soo green and welcoming. The people are incredibly friendly, and the whole day was just wonderful. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kigali.

Ange offered a comprehensive and customized tour of Kigali. We were able to visit the Genocide Museum, had lunch in a local restaraunt and looked at the city skyline to name a few all done comfortably via car. She is also very pleasant to talk to and very knowledgeable about the history and context.

Ange was great. She even returned my phone to the hotel, which I had left in her car! She knows Kigali well and this came across in our tour. She’s very professional and reliable and despite heavy traffic, she went out of her way to make sure I got to see what I wanted. The only reason I’ve not given 5/5 is that I value details and stories that show the tour guide’s passion for their city so that I can get below the surface. And this was a bit lacking. Otherwise, I can’t fault the tour at all. I would recommend Ange.

I had a great day with Ange! I was able to check off so many places that I wanted to see while in Kigali all in one day! I was able to learn more about Kigali’s history including the genocide, visit a pottery center, a women’s co-op, art galleries, and learn about multiple different neighborhoods, pedestrian only areas, and Kimoronko Market! There’s no way I could’ve done all these things in one day, and the experiences could’ve been a lot more stressful if I had tried to do it on my own. Ange was very knowledgeable, pleasant to be around, a safe driver and genuinely a nice person. She catered this experience to my needs and interests. I recommend this experience to anybody who wants to hit all of the must see places while in Kigali.

Had a wonderful day with local tour guide Ange! She arrived on time and was a pure joy to spend the day with. She provided the history of the city and the attractions we visited. We had a delicious lunch and enjoyed great conversation. I highly recommend Ange. As a solo traveler, I felt safe and was able to enjoy the city without worry.

We had a great experience on this tour. Our guide and driver, Ange, was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable and eager to share insights about Kigali’s history and culture.

While the itinerary listed several stops, we were unable to visit Mt Kigali, Biryogo Car Free Food Street, Kandt House Museum or Kigali Pottery Collections. However, we did visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, which was the most impactful part of the tour. It provides a deeply moving and educational experience that is essential for understanding Rwanda’s history.

We also visited the Campaign Against Genocide Museum, which includes a guide to walk you through its exhibits. The museum offers valuable historical context and its rooftop provides stunning panoramic views of the city.

A couple of practical tips: bring cash for the entrance fee at the Campaign Against Genocide Museum, as the card payment system wasn’t working when we visited. Also, be prepared for security checks at both this museum and the Kigali Genocide Memorial.

Overall, it was a well-organized tour and a great way to see key sites in Kigali. I’d definitely recommend it, but I’d also suggest updating the itinerary to better reflect what’s feasible within the time frame, as it’s not possible to visit every listed stop.

Would still book again for the experience and the excellent guide!

Review for Iriza Tours

My city tour of Kigali was exquisite. It was professionally delivered by Iriza Tours. My tour guide, ANGE INGABIRE exhibited a high degree of professionalism and good conduct. The arrival and take-off times were perfectly done. Her narration of sites visited, especially the Genocide Memorial. INEMA Art Gallery and Free Zone (City Centre) shows a good understanding of the subject matter and made it easier for me to follow. On the whole, Iriza Tours is recommended for others who may want the services of a well packaged tour.

Firstly Rwanda is beautiful. I had a great flight over with RwandaAir and will definitely return to see more of the country.

I was fortunate to have a 1-2-1 with Iriza Tour guide Ange, as I was the only booking on the day. She was incredible —knowledgeable, flexible, funny, and honest. We had a fantastic day together.

I wanted to take my time at both the Genocide Memorial and the Campaign Against Genocide Museum, and Ange ensured there was no pressure to rush so we could finish on time.

I used the audio guide at the Memorial, which was really good. There is lots to read and films to watch, and I left with a comprehensive overview of what led to the genocide and the loss of one million lives in 100 days.

The Campaign Against Genocide Museum was fascinating, and I learned so much more about the Rwanda Patriotic Army's planning and execution to stop the genocide following the disgraceful withdrawal of the United Nations troops.

This was all so heavy and I was ready to eat! Ange and I enjoyed a delicious Rwandan lunch at Africa Bite, (try the banana mash!) before heading to the main market, where I was amazed by the sheer number of piles of potatoes! The market is a vibrant and intense experience, but all good-natured.

We then visited the Inema Arts Centre, which I highly recommend. It features stunning works by Rwandan artists, many of which are surprisingly affordable and can be shipped. Our final stop was the iconic silver Kigali sign and a stroll through the business district.

It was a wonderful day. We were out for two hours more than planned. I would 100% recommend Iriza Tours and Ange as a guide.

This tour is a great introduction to Rwanda. We went to a good variety of sites and learned a lot about Rwandan history and culture. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend!

The driver was friendly and patient. We ate at the car free zone and got some souvenir paintings at the Pottery shop. The visit at the Genocide Memorial was a unique, lifetime experience. I admire the resilience and capacity of forgiveness of the people of Rwanda. Other countries have a lot to learn from Rwanda.

Harry’s deep knowledge of Kigali’s history and culture made the tour engaging and informative. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and a relaxing coffee break, which added a personal touch to the day. The visit to the museum was both enlightening and moving. Considering all the experiences included, the tour was excellent value for money.

This city tour was absolutely exceptional! My driver-guide, Ange, was patient, knowledgeable, and well-versed in the city’s history and culture.
