Itinerary
1
Table Mountain
2 hours
After collecting you from your accommodation bright and early it’s time to skip the queues and head to Africa’s most famous landmark; Table Mountain.. I mean, where else can you start?!
Sitting 1086 metres above sea level, this ever present figure on the Cape Town landscape is a marvel of nature and one of the new 'natural seven wonders of the world'
You’ll arrive and depart in style courtesy of the cable cars that taxi you to the summit- where you’re free to explore the breathtaking scenery and 360 degree, panoramic views on offer.
2
Camps Bay
Usually when you see ‘travel time’ on an itinerary it’s time to catch up on some Z’s but not in Cape Town! As we depart Table Mountain, your camera will be working overtime as we pass through the palm tree lined Camps Bay and hug the coast before reaching Hout Bay.
3
Seal Island
1 hour
Duiker Island, or as most people know it; Seal Island is situated just off the coast of Hout Bay. This fairly inconspicuous looking rock is home to over seventy thousand different seals, with as many as seven thousand managing to cram themselves on at once. Not only do you get to take a boat ride out to see the seals sunbathing in their natural habitat- but you're also treated to a less common coastal view. With Chapmans Peak on your left, Hout Bay to your right and seals everywhere else, you'll be spoilt for choice on this boat trip.
4
Chapman's Peak Drive
30 minutes
From Hout Bay it’s time to head South towards Simons Town; but not without travelling along one of the most incredible coastal roads you’re ever likely to see. As you slalom through the mountains, you’re treated to an ever changing picture of perfect scenery; with plenty of opportunities for photo stops. The Chapmans Peak drive wouldn't look out of place in a Top Gear road trip and is frequently used for films and driving adverts.
5
Noordhoek Farm Village
20 minutes
After passing over the unforgettable Chapmans Peak, we split the journey up by visiting the charming Noordhoek Farm Village. Where you can grab yourself a cold drink or even some of the renowned handcrafted ice cream and freshly baked artisan breads and pastries.
6
Boulders Beach Penguin Colony
1 hour
Despite the nautical links, Simons Town is most famous for one particular beach down the road that is adorned by some snazzy looking birds; Boulders Beach. Yep, penguins in Africa… on the beach. Who would have thought it? Either way, you can’t leave Cape Town without visiting Boulders, when else are you going to get the opportunity to sunbathe and swim with penguins?
7
Steenberg Vineyards
2 hours
What better way to bring the curtain down on your Cape Town adventure than to sample some of the worlds finest wines at one of South Africa’s many famed vineyards? We conclude our day with a breathtaking view out to the Constantia region, whilst indulging in a variety of delectable wine.
